Serving the community through birth work.

The goal of the Birth Roots Program is to ensure that all families, regardless of ability to pay, have the opportunity to have the continuous care and support of a doula as they begin their journey to parenthood. I understand that sometimes there are certain constraints that make affording quality doula care and additional support such as childbirth education or breastfeeding either difficult or impossible. However, I truly believe everyone deserves a doula.

I am passionate about serving the community, my community, and understand that this means being of service to those who are already in the community and those who are to come. I am concerned with the exponentially high rates of maternal and infant mortality, especially among Black women in America. The care of black women during pregnancy and the immediate postpartum period have a significant impact on their lives and the lives of their children, as we also suffer more from perinatal mood disorders, birth trauma, and unnecessary medical interventions such as cesarean surgeries.

With that in mind, I have created the Birth Roots program. This program provides these families access to all services on a sliding scale or through an extended payment plan.

If you are interested, fill out the Birth Roots contact form. I hope to serve your family soon by offering my support and resources.

Please note that you will be required to provide proof of income to qualify for this service.

If you are interested in helping to provide birth support for women and would like to donate, click below. Any amount is greatly appreciated and allows me to continue to work with women in my community who have limited resources.

It takes a village to raise a child.
